If you are in the tri-state area and also have a loved one suffering from a mental illness and are in need of support, SAMHAJ can help.
SAMHAJ (South Asian Mental Health Awareness in Jersey) is a program of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill in New Jersey (NAMI NJ). Its mission is to provide support and information for South Asian individuals (people of Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Nepali, Sri Lankan and Bhutanese origin) and families coping with serious mental illness. The services include monthly self-help support groups, educational presentations and referrals to culturally sensitive mental health professionals.
